Product Description From the Okefenokee Swamp comes a frog with a wide mouth that he just loves to use. He's particularly interested in the eating habits of other creatures found in the great outdoors--that is, of course, until he comes upon a big green one with lots of teeth who finds wide-mouthed frogs simply delicious. Full color.

Very funny. Our favorite book! July 13, 2003 Christina Johnson (NC) 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
Pop-up books are a great way to get kids interested in reading. My son is 5 and will be entering Kindergarten soon and he hasn't taken to reading on his own much. When I noticed how much he enjoyed the flip tab and pop up books, I went crazy on Amazon ordering all I could find that might be of interest to him. While I have found many that are great and educational, this book has to be the funniest. It doesn't really have any educational content, but my 5-year-old asks for it almost every night. This book is only a few pages so I don't mind reading it along with another book. The first time we read it, and of course added some original character voices, we both laughed for a good two minutes. He now has it memorized and likes to do the voices for the charaters(so cute). Brief Synopsis: The frog is a very curious one and he enjoys asking other animals what they eat, after boasting, "I'm a wide mouth frog and I eat flies." After asking a bird and mouse, he runs into an alligator that seems to be interested in him. The pop ups are great and the end is a huge payoff "SPLASH"! I say it's a must have!
The Twins' Favorite Book August 2, 2005 Beth (Abilene, TX) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Absolutely loved, loved, loved this book - my husband brought it home after a business trip when our boy/girl twins were just six weeks old, and by the time they were a year old, it was one of their most favorite books...and remained so, for several years. The illustrations really come to life with these amazing pop-ups, and the huge "Splash!" at the end always sent the kids into giggles. Eight years later, I purchased another copy of the book to send to my brother's baby boy - and he loves it just as much as his cousins always did. I highly recommend this book for anyone with children aged anywhere around 10 months - 4 years, and even older!

The Wide Mouth Frog by Keith Faulkner September 12, 2005 Karen C. Wagner (Victoria, TX USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This beautifully illustrated and well written book has brought new and colorful language to special children with little to no language. They asked me for "The Wide Mouth Frog". Thanks for your prompt attention.
Fabulous May 7, 2000 Anne Chamberlain (Washington D.C.) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is the book that helped my five-month old become an avid book lover. She is now seven months and she taps on the cover of the book whenever she wants me to read it with her (which happens about 30 times a day). The text is wonderful for mimicking the different animals and the book allows creativity during the reading process using the pop ups. When my baby cries, I usually pick up the book and she starts smiling instantly, excited about the prospect of reading it again. Now she shows an incredible interest in books of all kinds, curious about what treasures they hide.
